Computer professional -- 30 years experience with PCs. In the "olden days" you had to build a computer -- you couldn't buy one.

I got my experience beginning with the earliest days of the personal computer -- back when the term "Hacker" was a badge of honor. This was long before the news media distorted the term to mean an outlaw who broke into computer systems.

I actually got started because of "penmanship" -- couldn't read my own handwriting. (Did not foresee that I would eventually be teaching in front of a class, using a white board and inflicting my penmanship on others.) Then the hobby got serious as more and more people started buying computers and realized they needed support. The hobby became a full-time job.

Instructor at Pierce College, Continuing Education for nearly ten years. Offered classes in Introduction to Personal Computers, and Introduction to Windows 9x.

From 1992 through 1996 I was the Service Manager and technical wizard at a small local computer store. It was one of the few remaining "Mom and Pop" computer stores around. Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. Our forté was all computers custom-built to specifications. We had 22 years experience in computer hardware & software, maintenance & programming. On December 31, 1996 they closed their doors.

For several years I operated my own business:
Nick-of-time PCs/Repairs

I served a limited clientele with repair, training, networking, troubleshooting, and other consultation services.

Now fully retired, I only work on the family computers.
