Retired Air Force officer
(1970-1990).

Jet-transport pilot, instructor & examiner.
4000 hours flight
time in C-141A & B models.
On April 9, 2002 the last C-141s at McChord AFB were retired. I was

the ceremony.

World-wide, all runways are long and skinny, unless you are doing something SERIOUSLY wrong!
About 260 hours flight
time in T-37 & T-38 trainers.

The T-38 is a supersonic trainer. I took this picture at about 41,000
feet in spring 1971. (Yes, I was in the OTHER plane at the time.)
I've flown light aircraft, too -- licensed since 1969.
Expert in Strategic and Theater Airlift Operations and Command & Control within the Joint Operations arena. Liaison duty with the US Army. Weapons Controller and liaison duty with the Philippine Air Force at two isolated sites on Luzon Island.
(In response to a frequent question: No, I don't miss all the travel. It's nice to know when I will be home. I served my country for 20 years and that is sufficient.)
Active in the computer field.
Washington state native.
My wife, Julie, and I live on a lake with three fine dogs and a
boat. (Click thumbnails for larger pix.)
Larry
(formerly
Larry-Boy) 1999-
Golden Retriever. A family had this wonderful dog for nearly 3 years,
and their love and care for him shows. When they had to move in 2002,
they looked
to have him adopted. That is how this handsome animal came into my
life. The
loss of Alex (below) had left a pretty big hole in my heart, and Larry
fit just fine. He's
chewed up lots of unauthorized things and taken an unscheduled dip in
the lake twice, but he is much better now... usually...

here leaning on Larry's butt]
Georgie
(Georgia
Rose or George to her
friends) 1996-
Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Like most corgis, George insists she's not a
dog at all. Indeed, she seems to think she's a human who doesn't much
like dogs. It only took her once to learn not to fall into the lake
again. At 9 she began to show signs of Degenerative Myelopathy and Hip
Dysplasia, and we have gotten her a cart so she can continue
walking.Julie has had "G" since she was 3 months old.
Harper (Tafarnwr Afara
Happily Everafter) 2005- A man and his dog...
(It's not me, but it's a wonderful picture from an HP ad.)

Japanese for "Number 2".)
